Shawn Boatin steps down as COHDRL Media & PR Manager

Shawn Boatin has announced that he is stepping down from his role as COHDRL Media and PR Manager.

Shawn was the founder of the popular media platform GRM SPORT, which has showcased cinematic highlights of grassroots rugby from across the country. Over the years, his work has featured many teams from our city, with his videos amassing millions of views and bringing unprecedented exposure to grassroots sport.

In 2021, Shawn became an official member of the COHDRL management team, leading communications and media production, filming games, and producing promotional content.

Shawn Boatin has been covering Rugby League in this region and beyond for the last 8 years

Statement from Shawn Boatin
"It has been a pleasure to contribute to Rugby League in this fantastic city for the last eight years. My goal was to create lasting memories for players and their families as they progress through their rugby careers, giving them a chance to look back at where it all started — grassroots rugby.

As I continue to progress in my career outside of rugby, I find myself with less time to commit while also balancing family life. For that reason, I feel it’s the right time to step away from rugby for now. I hope to return in a few years, but in the meantime I leave you in the very capable hands of Kelland Sharpe, who has already taken on some of my duties and will now lead media operations for the league.
